at last - we reached the end. the beginning was glorious, the second book as good and then downhill - slowly first but once going the downhill was fast and sad. i share the feeling of a wasted chance with other readers, these were my books as well that this man mistreated.the last book was in no way better than its predecessors and thank goodness i did not buy the last 2 even second-hand. read and re-read the first 2 books and write at the end of the second: after several trials and lots of talking they will have a chance at a happy ever after.
The Conclusion of the Story - I am not a big lover of sci-fi, fantasy adventure type books, apart from Terry Pratchett, Robert Jordan and his Wheel of Time series and the current author. Terry Goodkind s books have been pure joy and exhilaration and have kept me contented for many a long evening. The first in the series was written well over a decade ago and it is amazing the number of books the series has taken to complete and not just two or three hundred pages per book. These have been large volumes by any standard. When I knew the latest book was being published I could hardly wait for it to hit the shelves, but now that I have read it and know that there are no more to come, I must admit to feeling a little sad. On the bright side I can begin to read them all again from the beginning.Anyone who has read these books or listened to the stories needs, nor wants a synopsis on this final volume and I would never dream of giving one. The books are a fantastic tribute to the imagination and writing skills of the author and I take my hat off to him.
